Coroner Inquest records for Worcestershire
« on: Saturday 03 June 17 12:55 BST (UK) »
Hello!

I got my great granddads death record in the post and it said that an inquest had taken place. Can someone please tell me how i am able to get the records from his inquest?

He died in 1973 Corbetts hospital.

Many thanks in advance :)

Hi,

You could ask the county archives if they hold a record and if it is available to view:

Well I've known people to be able to get the records as long as they can prove that the person is family and then theres a charge for getting the records. So that's why I'm wondering how i go about getting the records.

Hi There

First of all can you tell me where Corbetts hospital is please as I was born in Worcester & also lived in the north of the county but have never heard of it & straight away thought of Chaddesley Corbett but Im not sure if they have a hospital there.

Secondly I dont think you will get a copy of coroners report unless you travel to Worcester & visit the HIVE as some of the newspapers they hold on film may contain an edited version of the coroners report in their pages

Goog hunting

All the very best

It is possible it may not have survived, Coroners Inquest reports can be destroyed after fifteen years. It varies from Coroner to Coroner, there is no hard and  fast rule.

The John Corbett Hospital is in Stourbridge. My grandfather died there in 1984. I can't imagine there'd be another one in the area. Good luck with your search.
