John W Tyler - missing children
« on: Monday 05 June 17 14:26 BST (UK) »
Hi - trying to complete a puzzle piece in the family tree.
From a 1911 census i have identified that John W Tyler had three children but two had died - i believe somewhere in the time span of 1900 - 1911. I can find the one living child but would like to know if possible the ages, sex of the other two or at least a time period.

John came from Cheshire but was in Wales at this time. Any suggestions?

HI,

You can search the GRO births which now show maiden names.  This should help you to narrow down any matching deaths.

You have to register to search but it is free.   :)

I have found one possible child Gwendoline Tyler born 1902 Abergele MMN Carter, Denbighshire. Died 1902 Abergele. On the burial records it states buried 13/7/1902 in the Parish of Abergele, Abode Market Street Abergele, Age Infant.
With the parents marriage being in 1896 do you know where they lived before moving to Abergele, as the birth of the second child could be there ?

Kathleen Tyler was still alive on the 1911 Census so we are still looking for one more child who has died.

If I have it right, the marriage was in Leominster in 1896?

A couple of possibilities in Cheshire?

TYLER, ESTER        CARTER
GRO Reference: 1897  S Quarter in CHORLTON  Volume 08C  Page 844

TYLER, MARY  ELIZABETH      CARTER
GRO Reference: 1897  D Quarter in MACCLESFIELD  Volume 08A  Page 150

And there's a death for a Mary Elizabeth TYLER in ST Asaph, 1898, age 0! (FreeBMD)
TYLER, MARY  ELIZABETH      8
GRO Reference: 1898  J Quarter in ST ASAPH  Volume 11B  Page 228

The 8 ought to refer to months?

Thank you so much! I had trouble finding them in 1901 after they had married in 1896 so was starting to lose hope. I appreciate your help  :)
