Just received the Death Certificate for the Mary Ann Anatts (sic) whose death was registered in Abingdon district Q4 1859. Not sure if it helps.

Superintendent Registrar's district Abingdon. Registrar's district Sutton Courtney.
When died: 29th December 1859, Steventon
Name and Surname: Mary Ann Anatts.   Sex: Female.    Age: 30 years
Cause of death: Disease of the Brain. Certified.
Signature, description and residence of informant:  Ann Joyce (made mark). Present at death. Steventon
When registered: 31st December 1859.
Registrar: William Porter.

This certainly fits with the burial of the Mary Ann buried in Chilton on 1 Jan 1860. And if buried in Chilton rather than where she had been living just prior to death, she must have a connection with Chilton so she fits with the Mary Ann who was a servant in Abingdon and born Chilton in 1851.

I can find an Ann Joyce in Steventon in 1841 and 1851 - she is a 65 year old widow with a son Charles in 1851. Can't find her in 1861 though nor a death between 1851 and 1861.

So still not really sure whether this Mary Ann is my Ann, but can't find an unmarried Mary Ann born ca 1829 in Chilton either. ???
