Hi There

I fear there's no quick way to get your hands on the registers for Cotheridge & you have to rely on help from someone going to the HIVE at Worcester who will look at the film of the parish registers for you.  I would offer but I live quite a way away & only spend 3 holidays a year in the county of my birth, but if you can wait till mid AUG I will see what I can find for you.

All the very best

Hi Again

I don't know if the HIVE will have registers for Cotheridge as late as 1914 as its only a small parish & the church may still have them.  I spent a long time trying to find the on line catalogue of what registers the HIVE has but could not find this catalogue that used to be very easy to find on their old web site when the registers were at the History Centre, I had to give up in disgust as the new web site seems to lean towards archaeology

Hi nettex
Go to
http://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/info/20189/search_our_records

For the Parish Registers PDF go into 2nd down on the left is Indexes and Guides (over 40!) and scroll down to Parish Registers.

For surviving School Records go to 2nd down in the middle - “Individual Databases” and then click on “School Records Databases” and then search for school. If the schools are not on the list I don’t think the Archive have them. I believe that images of all the School Registers that the Archive hold are now available on FindMyPast.

Hi Phil - I agree the photos of Worcestershire County Council Archaeology reports are large and distracting.

Jack

Hi Nettex

Well if you do decide to take me up on the offer let me know what you want looked for in AUG as that's when I'll be at Hartlebury & I normally go to the HIVE one day each week when away from home but bear in mind what I said about the registers for Cotheridge as Ive looked at them before when searching for the baptism of James Stinton (he was famous for painting game birds for Royal Worcester) so I know its a very small film & may not go as late as you need - I hope Im wrong

All the very best

Phil

ps good luck when you go to the HIVE

Hi There

I did promise to see what I could find for you & this is all I could glean from the Cotherridge film

Baps
25 FEB1917 Vilma d/o Thomas Lawson/Louisa Williams (farmer) page 60 No 480
25FEB1917 Brenda Myrium d/o   Thomas Lawson/Louisa Williams (farmer) P 61 N 481

(Im not certain that Thomas's 2nd name is Lawson but it looks like it to me)

MAR
30NOV1915 P 54 No 108
James Presdee Drinkwater/25/B/cant make this out/Cotheridge/Henry/cant make this out
Annie Williams/23/S/         /Cotheridge/John (DEC)/Lab
Wits - Henry Drinkwater, ______ Emily Harris

(under the name of Henry Drinkwater there is a word in brackets & it looks very much to me like adoption if Ive read it correct but Im not certain of this as Ive never seen it on a marriage entry before & Ive been doing this for about 25years so treat this with a bit of caution (I even magnified the entry to power 48 but still cant be certain).

I searched the parish register film from 1912 to 1830 & this is all that I was able to find so I hope ist a bit of help to you

All the very best
