Just indicate when, where and the names known.

That sort of thing can only be gleaned from parish records or newspaper announcements.

Parish records in online sources peter out in the 1920s.
So newspapers are your best bet. Even so, i wouldnt hold your breath.
Have you tried any free searches?

If it was a Register Office wedding, then only the Marriage Certificate will help? :-\

If they married in a church, it is possible, although unlikely) that the Parish Register would help?
But most PRs in London are only available until about 1920?

Looks like you will need to spend £9.25 on the certificate.

It was a registry wedding, I don't really want to buy it, he wasn't a very nice person to me. I am just trying to link all my names together to get a passport.
Thanks for helping anyway.

If you do need the marriage details for passport purposes then you might need to submit a certified copy rather than just provide dates so best to check exactly what is required before submitting an application.

I don't need it in that sense for passport, he wasn't anything really to do with me, I only need to be able to link my birth name with his name as it was the name I was made to use after they married.
Thanks for your help anyway

Applying for a passport says if you were born before 1st January 1983 you need your full birth certificate.

If you were born after 1st January 1983 you need your full birth certificate and your mother or father's full birth certificate. If documents relate to the father then you need a copy of their marriage certificate.

I am assuming that you still use your step father's surname and are applying using that name ?? If so then I cannot see any alternative but to fork out the cash for a copy of the marriage certificate.
