James smith and Elizabeth Richardson from St Ives
« on: Friday 16 June 17 11:00 BST (UK) »
Hi
I'm doing a family tree for a friend and have got as far as the 1841 census in St Ives William Smith born 1806 and Elizabeth his wife born 1811 labourer.
Pallots marriage index gives a marriage 1829 at St Ives and her maiden name as Richardson which fits with the children's birth certificates.
She is born at St Ives according to latter censuses but he is dead by 1851.
Anyone up for the challenge of finding their parents?
There don't seem to be anything for St Ives online.

Thank you

I am confused, your heading says James Smith, your text says William

Could you please give the 1841 reference

Thanks
Rosie

Thanks Ciderdrinker

There seem to be 2/3 that were born St Ives around that time according to census.  The Fen Stanton one is possibly still alive in 1871.  LDS web site does not indicate that there is much available for the St Ives parish https://familysearch.org/catalog/search

Good Morning
I've had a look at familysearch and I assumed there would be something on there. But no .
It really does seem that this is one county where a trip to the record office is necessary.
Thank you all

From Parloc there are 28 parishes within five miles of St Ives so you might need to use archersoftware to check other parishes. What is William's occupation?

Sorry it's a bit off topic but can you tell me if this would be the case with other areas & how can one tell?

I don't know what "archersoftware" relates to/what it does/what it means/how I would know if I needed it etc  :-\
