« on: Saturday 17 June 17 16:24 BST (UK) »
Hi
Can anyone help with any information about Isaac Dixon who was buried at Elworth 10th march 1868 he may have lived in the Cheshire area prior to his death he was born about 1832 at Cartmel Lancashire .
In 1861 he was living at Green Lane Cottage ,Sandbach ,Congleton with his wife Elizabeth aged 20 and 4 month old son Thomas  .He is a railway bookeeper

I believe that his wifes surname was probably Lloyd born about 1842 in Cheshire

Is son Thomas born 1861 living with his uncle Thomas Dixon in Westmorland on the 1871 census?

If so is this Thomas and brother Isaac with possible father on the 1841 census:

Parish of Rydal and Loughrigg, Westmorland
Thomas Dixon, 40, Ag. Lab, Not born in County
Thomas Dixon, 15, Not born in County
Isaa Dixon, 9, Not born in County

An ISAIAH DIXON was baptized 19 August 1832 at Cartmel Lancashire , parents Thomas and Jane

This may explain why he is listed as Isaa in 1841 and it would be his father not his uncle.

All at Priory Church of St Mary and St Michael, Cartmel Lancashire

Thomas Dixon married Jane Frazer 5 January 1822 witness William Frazer & John Woods

Children
William baptized 22 September 1822
Thomas baptized 9 October 1825
Myles baptized 26 August 1827
Sarah baptized 11 April 1830
Isaiah baptized 19 August 1832

Burials
Jane Dixon age 35 buried 10 March 1834

Perhaps this is when Thomas Dixon moves to Westmoreland or before the 1841 census

Amondg - I think you read my reply incorrectly.

1841Isaiah/Isaac and brother Thomas are with probable father Thomas
1871 Isaacs son is living with his uncle Thomas.

Nice find by the way  :)

cheers Fellsman

Elizabeth was born with the surname Holding/Holden to an Ann.  Ann Holding married Thomas Lloyd in 1848.  It looks like Elizabeth married using the surname Holden, but registered all her children using the maiden name of Lloyd.
