Oh yes, I realised it wasn't your Lydia.  ;D Just thought they may have been related through marriage. Though having a quick look at Much Hadham/Bishops Stortford baptisms, I realise there are quite a few THURGOOD families.

Does the marriage record for your Lydia say if she was a spinster or widow?

I have only found transcriptions on line.

Solidrock found the original earlier as by license and gave witnesses but I assumed it didn't mention status.  Maybe they will come back with that later.

She was a pauper in 1851 so unlikely to have left a will, same for her husband.

She was a pauper in 1851 so unlikely to have left a will, same for her husband.

Can't find 1841.
