The FindMyPast image of Eliza's baptism Nov 13th describes her as "base daughter" of Thomas Perrott, farmer and Mary Powell, spinster.

Cannot see a death for Thomas, 1835 to justify naming of 2nd Thomas, 1841.

Possible family -

1841 Census
Cwmyoy Lower
Thomas Perrott, 34, farmer
Mary Perrott, 29
Thomas, 6
William, 4

1851 Census - HO107  2446  159  10
Address - Cwm, Lower Cwmyoy

Thomas Perrot, head, marr, 45, farmer of 30 acres- no lab, b. Mamilard? Monmouthshire
Mary Perrot, wife, marr, 56, b Cwmyoy Feuthog?
Thomas Perrot, son, 15, b. Cwmyoy Feuthog?
John Perrot, son, 6, b. Cwmyoy Feuthog?
Mary A., dau 3, b. Cwmyoy Lower

The age, 45, fits the Thomas on the 1841 Census and the birth county is consistent.  The age, 56, does not fit the Mary of 1841 (29).

Haven't been able to find a marriage for Thomas and Mary Powell to date.

The GRO has a birth registration for a Mary Ann Perrot, Dec Qtr 1847, Abergavenny, 26  29 - mother's maiden name Williams

GRO Birth Registration
John Perrot, Mar Qtr 1845, Abergavenny, 26  31 - mother's maiden name Williams

The 15 yr old Thomas on the 1851 Census pre dates the GRO but the age fits the baptism for Thomas and Mary Powell

On the 1861 Census Mary's age is given as 44!

Two new additions to the family - Margaret and Sarah, both with mother's maiden name Williams?

What's the source of your info. on the first post?

Greetings, thanx for all the responses. Unfortunately some of the family info likely may have been hearsay and not correctly documented.

Perhaps I should start again with more credible info.

my gr. grandmother, Elizabeth Ann Perrott, daughter of William Perrott and Hannah Lloyd, baptism Dec qtr 1867, reg at Rogerstone Dist., Monmouthshire.

William Perrott, b at Crickhowell, Brecknockshire ~1829, based on 1871 Rogerstone, Monmouthshire census that shows William Perrott (42, b at Crickhowell, Brecknockshire), head, married, labourer, living at Rogerstone with wife Hannah (32, b at Monmouthshire, Wales), and daughters Elizabeth Ann (3, b at  Rogerstone, Monmouthshire) and Miriam (0, b at Rogerstone).  Alternatively, he may have been born ~1837, based on death (age 61) reg at Newport Dist, Monmouthshire, Wales Sept qtr 1903.   William Perrott marriage to Hannah Lloyd (b at Llanhilleth, Brecknockshire 1839) reg at Newport Dist (poss Rogerstone?), Monmouthshire Sept qtr 1867 - Freebmd.com.

It is the parents of William that I need confirmation on as I may have been incorrect data stating that it was a William Perrott and Mary Powell.  As such, I have just requested copy of marriage certificate for William and Hannah from GRO which should confirm both his age and name of father.  Information in the above posts suggests that it may have been Thomas Perrott and Mary Powell.

Again thank you very much for your time and assistance.  i will get back with correct info from marriage cert.

cheers
ian

Isn't the 1867 marriage William Parrett and the '71 Census William Parratt?
