Other finds ~

Baptism of Dorothy Morris, Llangollen 28 Feb 1752 (born 27th). Parents as on marriage entry - Richard Morris and Ellen.

Also, the marriage in Llangollen of Richard Morris and Ellin Hughes - 2 October 1748

A Chart going backwards (no dates)  to see info more clearly! ~

I've found possible baptisms for James Kenrick in Ruabon and Bangor on Dee with father Daniel but not at all sure about these.  There are a few Kenricks in the Llangollen area that could be relations of James (poss brothers) but, again, not sure.

Williams, Morris and Hughes are very common surnames in the area so it will be more difficult to find. Also, the possibility of the patronymic being used is more likely as we move back to the early 18th century.

Thank you for all/ I was not expecting all these findings.
What do you mean when you say :"Also, the possibility of the patronymic being used is more likely as we move back to the early 18th century" ?

Patronymics - in which children take their fathers' first name rather than a surname. See, for example:

It's really interesting, I had never heard of this Welsh habit of patronymics!
I had noticed  names like John Jones, Edward Edwards etc... and wondered why the parents gave the children first names sounding like the surname!!!
