The Bennett's of Leicestershire
« on: Friday 30 June 17 12:09 BST (UK) »
Hi there,

This comes from an article in a newspaper, and has sparked a desire to find information which i can't seem to find.

This is the article (from Luton)

DEATH OF MRS. JOSEPH BLUNDELL
We deeply regret to announce the death of Mrs Blundell, wife of Mr Joseph Blundell, of Flamstead Lodge, Herts., which took place early on Monday week in her eightieth year.
Mrs Blundell was a fourth daughter of the late Mr William Bennett, of Lewsey and Cambridge. Her grandfather, Mr. Samuel Bennett, sen., was descended from an old Leicestershire family of yeomen and being one of the earliest adherents of the Wesleyan Methodist body, was chiefly instrumental in introducing Methodism into the district where he lived...

William Bennett
7 AUG 1793 Tempsford, Bedfordshire, England

His non-conformist birth/baptism record names his parents as Samuel Bennett and Mary Cooper.
Although i know you are supposed to take this with a pinch of salt...a marriage on the Contributed IGI...

Marriage
Samuel Bennett
Mary Cooper
5 November 1785 • Wymeswold, Leicestershire, England

Can anyone help with finding out the mystery of Samuel Bennett from the yeoman family of Leicestershire?

Samuel Bennett & Mary Cooper both of the parish of Wymeswold were married by banns 5/11/1785 in Wymeswold (the parish church) by J Dawson, curate. Witnesses: John Giles and Thomas Harly (not sure about this name, could be Hardy or some other variant, not very clear to me)
