Hi there my ancestor was John Stephenson born in 1790 in Whitby, the son of John Stephenson and Jane Shadforth baptised in 1792.

I wonder if it might please be possible for you to look up the baptisms, marriages and burials of the Stephenson family on the CD you have please?

With many thanks and kind regards,
Jon

I'll have a look tonight. Cannot guarantee a time as revising for a test tomorrow.

Will have a look.

Hi Lensmeister

I wondered if you still had the parish registers for Whitby. I am looking for the parents or any family of James Boult born around 1753 possibly in Whitby. He married Mary Coulthirst Feb 8th 1779 in Whitby. Any help would be much appreciated

Susan

Morning,

Sorry last night was a bit busy family wise.

I can find the marriage:
Whitby Register, Marriages
[vol.9.p.277]
Feb 8 James Bolt, bachelor, sailor & Mary Coulthirst*, spinster both of Whitby, banns
Wit George Pringle, Michael Blackbeard
Cur Hickes

Baptisms searched:
Mar 1740 - Mar 1755
Mar 1755 - Jan 1768

No Boult, or Bolt. There are a few Bolton names but no James' I'm afraid.

Sorry.

Thank you for looking him up for me. At least I have his occupation and witnesses to his wedding. I thought he too would have been born in Whitby as Mary Coulthirst had been. Thank you again, its much appreciated

Susan

Hi there,

I wonder if you are still ok to look up within the parish registers for St Marys, Whitby.
If so, I would really appreciate a look for the baptism of Robert Harrison. I suspect there may be several.

I know that he married at St Mary's in 1798 to Jose Wilkes and that he was a bachelor and schoolmaster.
I am trying to find his baptism and hoping it is in Whitby, St Marys.
I would hazard a guess he was in his 20s to 30s when he married. They had a child in Sleights in 1799.
Thank you
