WW1 Recruitment - General question
« on: Monday 03 July 17 23:14 BST (UK) »
During WW1 localised recruitment was done in the various towns and villages.  But where?  Can anybody please give me advice on the kinds of venues used.  I am specifically interested in the Consett and Lanchester areas of County Durham.  Many thanks.

Town Halls were the usual place for volunteers as these were central & large enough to process large numbers.
As volunteers started to dry up more intense recruitment methods were employed so if it meant going to smaller places to rally recruits then any local & reasonably sized building would do.

Thank you jim1,

This is totally off my normal subject and I really had no idea.
