Bright street old Radford nottingham
« on: Wednesday 05 July 17 12:30 BST (UK) »
My great grandfather George Richard Mitchell had a grocers shop at 17 bright street old radford nottingham. He may have worked with his younger brother Harry.
Anyone any details, photos or knowledge
They were listed in Wrights directory of 1916.
Prior to this his father, also called George Mitchell was a grocer at 245 Alfreton Road Nottingham from 1900 to about 1920

This map shows Bright Street, running south from Ilkeston Road. Not much of it left today sadly ....  :(

As the numbering would have started at Ilkeston Road, I am going to guess that No 17 was in the part of Bright Street between Ilkeston Road and Miall Street.  ;) :)

PS. Welcome to rootschat. :)

Ask away if you need help with anything Andy.  :)

There are boards which cover various topics and regions so post any queries on the appropriate board. If you are unsure where to post, the Common Room is a good all rounder. Moderators can move threads if required.

Have you thought about asking Nottingham Archives or local family history groups in case they have photographs from the area?
