For young Mary I did have the GRO record copied, but the GRO record shows the age as 9 rather than 9 months.

Just mentioning the new GRO index age for deaths can mean weeks, months or years.

Hi Glenn,

No problem I'm always glad to help if I can.  Elizabeth's death is recorded under the name Isabella Brady as it is in burial record:

Deaths
Brady Isabella Dec 1856 Nottingham Vol 7b pg 122.

there is another person in the same grave don't know if it's a family member but buried between Isabella and Mary Ann its:

Joseph Cowen of the Union House aged 32yrs died 25 March 1856 buried  26 March 1856.

Hello NG
Have not seen any reference to Cowens before, I have checked a little, no Brady/Cowan marriages or Brady/Cowan maiden [& vice versa] visible.  There is a Michael Cowan, born 2 years after Joseph Cowen, who shows on the 1861 Nottingham census as from Ireland but I cannot find any sensible Irish birth for him, let alone for him & Joseph as brothers!
Still I will keep them in mind on my Irish searches.  Which I may say have so far been almost completely unsuccessful.  Has anyone actually had much success with Irish searching?

Hello from New Zealand. I would love some help with an 1861 census entry for the Nottingham Union Workhouse. (Piece 2460 Folio 116 Page 31). There is an entry for a child Emma (no last name) aged 12, Scholar, born Leicester, Leicestershire.

Can anybody please provide the admittance/discharge information for this young girl? I believe she might be Emma Elizabeth Cann from Leicester whose father died in 1859 and mother died in 1861.

Thanks in advance.
