Challinors of Cheshire and East Wales

My ancestors include:
Josh/Joseph Challinor chr. 1730 and his father Joseph Challinor chr. 1688.
I cannot find Joseph 1688's parents, or siblings for either of them. I have tried BMD and Bishop's Transcripts online, without success. Can anyone advise me where to go with this? I have a subscription to Ancestry.com. Thanks.

Josh Challinor baptised 22nd February 1730 - father Joseph - although baptised in the Parish of Bunbury the family residence is in Peckforton - never heard of that  village  - must google it

can't say for definite this is your Joseph - but looks the most likely to me .
the only marriage for a Thomas Challinor in the right time frame is 27th November 1685 at St John the Baptist,Chester - Thomas Challinor to Sarah Davenport ....maybe make a note of this marriage just in case
Sarah Challinor baptised 24th june  1688 St John the Baptist Chester  - father Thomas - so that marriage is wrong - our Thomas is in Tarporley 1688

Thank you, guys, for your replies. Looks as if Joseph 1688's father is Thomas, probably born 1655-1668 (broad range).
