Hi My name is Michael Adley from New York.

Walter F Adley and Mary Molloy of Boston Massachusetts are my grandparents on my Father's side (Walter F Adley Jr).
Catherine Emmett is my step Grandmother.

I typed out a very long history breaking it all down...and it was lost when it asked for security...Let me know if you want more info.  I am happy to share.  I loved both of them very much, they were amazing grandparent, I miss them and want to know more of our history...a fragmented family, but we were all close, but sheltered from our deep roots.

Hi Can anybody Help?

So he had a second wife. Searching the Massachusetts Marriage index again  I get:
Adley Walter F      Boston      1952    vol 14 page 559
Adley Walter F      Everett      1952    vol 40 page407

why are there two entries for Walter F Adley is this two different people with the same name getting married at two different places or is it one person called Walter F Adley getting married and his marriage is recorded in two different places?

I can explain this part, and will look at the rest of the thread to see if I can find anything else.
Massachusetts registers the marriage in the town the marriage took place and in the town where the parties lived. I've never seen one registered in 3 places, but have seen many registered in 2. In this case they might have married in Everett, but either Walter or his bride were living in Boston. Or the other way around.

Hi Michael,
I am the originator of the this thread back in July 2017. I am also a member of the 'Guild of One Name Studies' ( www.one-name.org ). The surname I am studying is 'Audley'. I believe that the 'Adley' surname is a variant of the 'Audley' surname (or vice versa) particularly when looking back to County Galway in Ireland. There are of course other origins to both surnames.
All my research into the Audley Surname (including how it links to the Adley surname) is freely available on both of my websites. I suggest you look at www.audley.one-name.net and look for 'Audley Family M' download the 'Audley Family M' file and search for {M279} I believe he is your Grandfather, and I believe {M301} is your father.
Living in England I have little access to US records after the 1941 census and whilst I know a little of your family, it may help you recover the information that you lost. I would also appreciate any information and or photographs, that you would be prepared to allow me to place on my website. It is only with the help of people like you, and responders to my questions on Rootschat that my website has become what it is.
If you wish to discuss this further that is great, we can either do it through Rootschat or if you contact me through my website and then we can exchange e-mails.
Regards
Brian
