MIfflin Family tree
« on: Tuesday 11 July 17 14:04 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to find relatives to a John Mifflin born in Rugeley Staffordshire around 1810/1811 per census records? I cannot find any relatives further back? Any ideas? Has anyone else looked at my family surname in this area?

I Have found a potential match but with name Miflin?

This is my first time of using roots.com - so hope I'm using it right! :) :)

The only baptism I can find is the John Miflin which you already have. Personally I wouldn't worry about the fact that it isn't 'ff' in the middle of the name. Often the Parish Clerks were not overly educated but could read and write to a degree. They often wrote down what they heard and if the parishioner couldn't read then they wouldn't know if the name was spelt correctly or not.

I think this is probably your chap.

Is this the John Mifflin baptised on 26th august 1810, Rugeley, parents William & Sarah Miflin.
I agree seems to be the only one at that time.
