Help Finding William Arnold
« on: Saturday 15 July 17 23:16 BST (UK) »
Hey everyone, I've been researching this family member and believe i have found a baptist record  for him. Born 1779 baptised Lyminge Kent, mother Mary father William. I'm looking for a marriage for Mary and William but i have no second name for Mary. Be very grateful for help in finding them and any other relatives relating to this family.

I believe the son William born 1779 went on to later Marry Sarah Spinner in St Clements Sandwich in 1807

It's possible that William the father had a brother George Arnold
10 years earlier there was this christening

Name     William Arnold
 Residence Place     Kent, England
 Gender     Male
 Christening Date     27 Aug 1769
Christening Date (Original)     27 Aug 1769
 Christening Place     Lyminge, Kent, England
 Father's Name    George Arnold
 Mother's Name    Mary

so it looks like the Arnold family were in Lyminge - but both George and William married a Mary - probably in the parish church where their wives were from - I would presume not far from Lyminge ....I will have a look

George married Mary Cloke

Name     George Arnold
 Spouse's Name    Mary Cloke
 Event Date     28 Jan 1769
 Event Place     Lyminge, Kent, England
.................................................................................................
15 miles from Lyminge and a possible Mistranscription - only possible one I could find in the right timeframe
Name     William Arnel
 Spouse's Name    Mary Garner
 Event Date     18 Oct 1777
Event Place     Church Of England, Westbere, Kent, England

Thank you for your help, its is entirely possible that it was spelt as it was heard, I have come across this several times in my research. And it looks like both William and George who both married Mary's also had sons in which they both called William...lol...how confusing. I swear there are so many Williams in my Family and my daughter born in 1991 is called Billy it must be a genetic thing lol.

Help is much appreciated x
