I have the 22 June 1881 Marriage Registration for James Russell and Annie(Anna) Maria Alford in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.
Her parents are listed as Alfred Alford (woodcarver) and Margaret Elliott. there is also a Samuel Elliott as a witness.
So here are my thoughts on the following notes from some of my mom’s research:
Alfred Alford, Margaret’s husband was a woodcarver who lived in Londonderry City. He and 3 of his children died there during a cholera epidemic 1858/60. 2 children survived. Annie Maria Alford (1855-1931) and Alfred Alford born in 1854. he served in WWI.
So this being the case, if Margaret was a Dunbar that remarried an Elliott, prior to her daughters marriage, she would be listed as such. Samuel Elliott is listed as a witness, is this her 2nd husband? According to my notes, Margaret's Father was a Laurence Dunbar married to a Mary Clarke with 4 children (Margaret b. 1828, John b. 1825, Bridget b. 1831, and Richard b. 1837)
