Am assuming this is them - married Mar qtr 1932 registered at Basford (7b/545) ?

Added: There is a 3 year old Cyril (Syril) STRAW on the 1911 census at Bullwell. If this is the correct Cyril, then this is probably his birth - registered Jun qtr 1908 at Nottingham (7b/602), mother's maiden name ARAM.

Also, in my opinion, the last 100 years are the most difficult to research, as so many data repositories have a 100 year closure rule?

On that basis, you simply have to purchase the marriage certificate!
Then you will know father's names & occupations, and maybe ages of the happy couple.

Have you checked them on the 1939 National Register?

Have you looked for any Electoral Register entries?

Again, this is a big "if" - if that is the correct Cyril in 1911, then his parents were probably Samuel STRAW (born c 1866 in Ilkeston, Derbyshire) and Martha ARAM (born c 1870 in Nottingham). They married in Dec qtr 1890 at Basford (7b/225). They are easy to find on the 1891 and 1901 census - familysearch show the transcriptions for free.

I agree with KGarrad though, probably best to start with the marriage cert for your couple

You have the right Cyril straw my father I was having problems as there are two marriages for a Cyril straw one to Minnie and one to a Gertrude parkes around the same time so I think one could be an error as Cyril straw  is not a common name

Not that uncommon- there are 6 Cyril STRAW's born in Nottinghamshire between 1900 and 1920, although at least 1 (1902) died as an infant.
