There's a 1973 Marriage in Birkenhead for Durkin, Byrne - Vol 10a page 128   I would start with ordering a marriage certificate.

Hope this helps.

Hi, are any of these people still possibly living?

Rootschat has a policy to help prevent Internet abuse of individual personal info

It states:
Please do not post requests asking for help to find (possibly) living relatives or friends.
RootsChat is a forum for searching for ancestors. Anything posted on the internet is in the public domain where anybody can see this information. To protect people and their identities we do not encourage the posting of information about people who are or maybe still living.
Even with permission from the subject of a post we would seriously advise against giving too much information as to betray their identity.

removed the names which have been removed from the OP

Theres a potential birth in the right area in 1944, mothers maiden name Riley

But really you need the marriage certificate to get the fathers name, once you have that you can see if the father on that matches the father on this

I imagine the grandparents would be Michael Durkin (20 Feb 1915 - 1990) and Eveline Riley (1909 - 1968) who married in 1936

Hi Rachael

Welcome to Rootschat  ;D

If you haven't done so already, please take a few moments to read our guidelines for posting as we do have a 'no living people' policy here. Posts here have been edited to remove names of potentially living people in accordance with that policy.

http://www.rootschat.com/help/posting_guide.php

Rootschat isn't really a forum for reconnecting with missing family and friends but the guidelines contains links which might help.

If you're trying to build a family tree, you'll find www.freebmd.org.uk useful for searching the birth, marriage and death indexes if you don't have a sub to Ancestry or FindMyPast and www.familysearch.org also for more recent events.

In fairness to the OP the title does say they are trying to trace the grandparents - so it does appear (at least to me) as if they are trying to go backwards (however hasn't clarified if the details given are of living people which is against rootchat rules)

Please don't be scared off OP
