Edith Margaret Anson
« on: Tuesday 25 July 17 13:57 BST (UK) »
Hello, I am looking for Edith Margaret Anson  Born in 1890/1891 to I think 1961 (Died in Liverpool - I think).  Can anyone tell me if she married or not I cant believe she went through life without being married? Any help would be much appreciated as I have drawn abit of a brick wall.  I know where she was born, I know she was a chambermaid for Lickhill Manor and also the Queens Hotel in Cheltenham, but that's all I have.

There is a death of an Edith M Anson registered Jun 1961 Liverpool South which would imply that she died a spinster.

Many Thanks, how do I find out where she would be buried? I did find a grave but it came up with nothing.

You might need the death certificate to see where she died and then try the nearest churches to this address.

Could have been buried in a cemetery rather than churchyard but why would you think she must have married- lots of people died unmarried  :-\
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I don't suppose anyone would have a photograph of this lady she is my great grandmother and I have no idea what she looked like.   I just though that she may have married so I could look up her married name also, but turns out she died a spinster.

Hi,

There is a probate entry for her which gives her address when she died, that might help narrow down where she was buried or cremated.

ANSON Edith Marguerite of Flat 3  7 Hawarden Avenue Liverpool spinster died 23 Apr 1961 at Sefton General Hospital Liverpool Administration London to the solicitor for the affairs of the Duchy of Lancaster. Effects £1039 17s

You can get a copy of the will here,

Daisy

Have you found her in 1939, just to see who she was living with?
