Jamieson family history
« on: Tuesday 25 July 17 14:08 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone, I have re started my family history search... I have still drawn a blank in researching my Jamieson side.  My great grandad was George Forsyth Jamieson  born 1903 and his father was Henry Jamieson (a bootmaker).  I have George's marriage certificate to Agnes Amos in 1927.  I am really trying to find out anything about the family, but it proving difficult.  I think I have found an old army record on findmypast but that is all.  I hope someone out there will be able to help!

Kind regards

Difficult to help without places ... it's best to give as much detail as you have and tell us exactly what you are looking for.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

George Forsyth Jamieson's marriage was in Hendon.  I think he moved to Middlesbrough and i have been told there is a Scottish connection too possibly Glasgow.

Thanks

If you search freebmd for possible Jamieson/Amos births there are 2 possibilities 1928 & 1941 I will not post details as they are easy to find

Thank you again, I don't think I have seen the same record as you, the only record I could see was a 1920 service record.  It does say Royal highlanders blackwatch.

If you look at the image, it goes on to say he was discharged from highlanders possibly epilepsy.
Also on the image it states his next of kin
Muckley, Routledge, Roe, Bontoft, Brumpton, Bills, Aspatria, Carlisle
