Silk marriage in Great Staughton 1714
« on: Friday 28 July 17 14:53 BST (UK) »
Hi
If anyone has access to marriages at Great Staughton for this period, could they do a quick lookup for me please? I am looking for the marriage of Edwardo Silk and Anna Hawkins in Great Staughton on  26 Jan 1714, and hoping for some extra info like residence or witnesses?
Many thanks
Helen

Hello
I have looked in a transcript:
Anne was s.w. O.T.P. (singlewoman of this parish) and Edward was s.m. of Sandy, Co Bedford (singleman of Sandy in Bedfordshire). No witnesses were given.
By the way, they were married in January 1714/15 (old calendar), that is, in the month after December 1714.

Hi Sue
Many thanks for that, it's about as good as it gets without family as witnesses!
My Edward and Ann Silk spent all their married lives in Northill but weren't born there, so this is a strong possibility as Northill is next door to Sandy.
Cheers
Helen
