Matthew Sykes - a mystery
« on: Tuesday 01 August 17 19:23 BST (UK) »
Dear all,

Matthew Sykes, a farmer of West Bretton, Yorkshire, married Anne Rhodes on 13 August 1676 at Darton, and passed away in 1702 at Sandal Magna, Wakefield.  His children were all born at Sandal.  Oddly enough, I can't seem to find his date of birth, or in fact, his place of birth.

I would very much appreciate your help with this mysterious search.  Perhaps he came from Leeds and settled in Wakefield, as many of the Sykeses originated from Leeds and ventured off in the 16th to 17th centuries.

Best wishes,
GS
