John Kidd Obituary 1984
« on: Wednesday 02 August 17 08:25 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help with a look up for an obituary please. John Kidd was born 8 Jul 1920 in Fleetwood Lancashire and died second quarter 1984 Herefordshire. I think his wife was Anne.

Many thanks

What area of the county?

Funeral notices rather than obituaries are usually brief, unless he was a person of some standing in the community, stating the date of death and details of the funeral. What are you trying to find out?

I would like to know about family members and his occupation at the time of death. Also if it mentions where he was buried/cremated.

Herefordshire authority has a list here.

https://www.herefordshire.gov.uk/directory/27/cemeteries_and_crematorium

Clicking on any of the places includes a link to Bereavement Services.

They should be able to tell you where he was buried or cremated but will most probably require and actual date of death and last known address from the death cert.

Same applies to the obituary look up, 3 months worth of deaths to go through and many local papers for the county.

John Kidd was born Fleetwood,  1 of 4 siblings ..  after the war  he worked (among other jobs )  at the ICI  before moving to  Mersey side  as Mayors attendant..   then moved to Hereford still carrying out the duties for the council ..  after retiring  he remained in Hereford  were he finally passed away..
He was married to  "Ann"  (Hannah Mary cross Bursonal   who was born in Uddingston Glasgow..)  and was father to Jean and Peter Kidd...   Both parents were cremated  at Hereford..  nearly 5 years apart..    If I can help further please feel free to ask..
