Lindsay family Enniskillen
« on: Tuesday 08 August 17 11:37 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to trace my husband's family but can't find any birth record for my father-in-law William Edward Lindsay born 21.8.1929 in Letterbreen. His parents were Edward Lindsay & Elzabeth Jane Reilly who were married in December 1924 at Enniskillen registry office. I believe Elizabeth was born on 5.4.1908 & Edward died on 1.5.1947 at Derryleck...any help would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

Welcome to rootschat, Julie.

Could you say which birth records (website) you have been searching, please?

Birth records in Northern Ireland within the past 100 years are not on-line. You can look them up in GRONI or on the GRONI terminals at PRONI. Both in Belfast. If you can't get there, you would need to contact GRONI and get them to find the record for you. (There may be a search fee for that).

I've been on Groni this is where i found Edward's death certificate and marriage certificate but there is no record of William. I have found the grave site of William's brother Wesley but no other records of him either. There were several children....William, Wesley , Ivan, John , Doris , Eileen & a couple more that i can't remember the names of but no birth records that i can find.

Birth records less than 100 years old are not on-line

Quote:
For data protection reasons, if you are using the internet to search the register, some of the records will not be available to view. You will be able to access the following records if you visit GRONI online(external link opens in a new window / tab):

- birth records over 100 years old
