HI Derek.

I am not sure about that 1949 wedding as there was another George William Austin in Middlesex
around that time. I have read the will and I can not see a surname for Phyllis on it. I know I thought the married noted above was correct but now not so sure.

I can not find divorce papers on line for the period that George would have dissolved his marriage with Fanny.

The freebmd gives Fanny surname the same as her husband's Beveridge in 1971.

I also looked at the other person who was left some money and can not see a link to George although she did marry in Worthing in 1984.

Sandy,

I do not understand about your comment that there is no surname for Phyllis on the will.
The link to the London Gazette states Phyllis Marjorie Austin as a personal representative.

I meant to say Surname of Smith to the above marriage in 1949.

Obviously it gives her married name.

Sorry.

If the purpose of this search is to find when and where Phyllis died, possibly the other person named in the will (to which the majority of people on here have not seen) could have more information about her?
Has anyone attempted to trace them?

Good.

Just useful to update thread when relevant details are found - saves others from trying to repeat searches.

I couldn't agree more especially as I have been in contact with Derek elsewhere and already searched what he is asking. Obviously it is his choice to ask elsewhere too however much re-searching I previously did.

Thanks to everyone for your input. You can now close this post. I have now made contact with someone who is related to Phyllis Smith and await further correspondence with them. Sandy thank you for unearthing the will of George William.
