George William Austin born in 1901 and died 29/1/1983 at “Woodridge” 75 Hurston Close Findon Valley Worthing. Married in 1934 to Fanny Christina Phillips born 22/5/1908. In 1939 George W and Fanny are living at 27 Broadwater Street West. Occupation shoe maker, retailer and voluntary Fireman. Appears her and George divorced as she married a David T Beveridge in June 1971 in the District of Chichester Vol 5h page 1171. He remarried in 1949 to a Phyllis Marjorie Smith.

I am trying to find the place and date of death of Phyllis Marjorie Smith please?

Seems a little odd that he remarried in 1949 but Fanny not till 1971 - however, are you sure that George and Phyllis stayed together and didn't divorce soon after?

George and Phyllis married in 1949 Westminster - in 1952 a Phyllis M. Austin married a St. John H Heather, also in Westminster.

Deaths show a Phyllis Marjorie Heather born 7/10/1925 died in April 2003 Portsmouth, and St. John Hewitt Heather b.20/4/1912 died Feb.1988 Worthing, Sussex.

I thought maybe pampoe had a certificate or two, but possibly some of the info came from this
https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/49260/page/1909/data.pdf
(entry 10)

It's possible perhaps that there was an age gap, and the lady may either be still alive, or else died comparatively recently.

I should have mentioned I have the will of George William Austin and that is where I found the name of his second wife Phyllis Marjorie Austin born Smith. They married in 1949. Phyllis was alive when George died in 1983. I am trying to find out when and where Phyllis died.

You could get the marriage certificate, and see what you can glean from it.

There is a will for a Phyllis Marjory Austin in 2010, died 11th October 2010.

The registry was Ipswich.  The death could have been anywhere in the country, but if you look for Phyllis Austin on 192.com, there is a Phyllis M Austin living in Ipswich from 2002 to 2010, with another Austin (male).  Could be just coincidence - worth getting the will?

Added:
Will was Marjory - yours is Marjorie, so wrong person?

I think the Ipswich Phyllis M. may have started life as Woods in 1926, marrying Mr Austin in 1948 (all Ipswich).
