Problems with Burmese brides taking English names
« on: Wednesday 09 August 17 15:30 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have spent many long hours working on both my own and my wife's family tree.  Both grandmothers were clearly Burmese (I have seen photos) and their respective husbands were English. Their christian names were definitely not Burmese.  They are shown as Constance Lilian Andrews and Julie Constance Moore respectively on marriage certificates (both born c 1887).  How can I trace them back further to see where they came from?

John

Hi and welcome to RootsChat.

If you have their marriage certificates, aren't their father's names listed there?

Yes, but not their mothers.

What are the fathers names and did the couples live in England after marriage?
