Hi there,
I'm a bit stuck on finding what happened to my relative Mary Lever, after 1891. She is living in Widnes, Lancashire in 1891 as a laundry lady, lodging with a family and her daughter Hannah, born 1882. I can't find her at all after that, despite being able to trace her husband, parents and children.
Mary was born Mary Ann Woods in 1853 in Runcorn, Cheshire to Samuel Woods (1803-1870) and Mary Worrall (1813-1882). She married Michael Lever in Warrington in 1871, but they seem to have seperated by 1891. He died in Dutton Workhouse near Runcorn in 1913.
I'm curious to see where Mary went, especially as I can't find what became of two of her sisters. One is Ann Woods, born 1843 in Runcorn. She is alive in 1861 with her family and then I lose her.
Another sister is Elizabeth Woods, born 1848 in Runcorn, who married Joseph Miller in 1871 in Warrington.
The family seemed to have lived in Fryer Street, Runcorn from at least 1850-1882, so not sure why the girls married in Warrington? Perhaps someone can explain?
My thinking is, if I can find what became of Ann and Elizabeth, then perhaps I can find Mary, my ancestor.
Here is Mary in 1871 with her newly married sister:
