Bledington Village DNA Test
« on: Saturday 12 August 17 14:09 BST (UK) »
Hi

According to recent news reports in the last 24 hours, the villagers of Bledington were invited to try a DNA Test and the story was in the newspapers online, this morning.

I am not from any commercial company or newspaper, nor a DNAer myself, but thought it might be of interest.

Regards Mark

If you come across any origins, or any reference to this chap/family in Gloucestershire records ....

George HOOD of Selby Before 1812?
Married at Selby Abbey church in 1815. Buried in the Quaker Burial Ground at Selby as "Not in Membership" in 1845, aged 60 years, after a failed request to join the Quakers in 1836.

Please let me know, thank you.

My dad's side of the family came from Bledington, so I was really happy to see that this village had been chosen.  The family name was Cook.  I'm descended from Amos Cook (bc 1819) and Lois Baldwin (bc 1817).  They are my 3x great grandparents.
