Charles Edward werrell

Looking for help finding out if my great great grandfather served in ww1 he was born in 1888 in Eton district  to George and Emma werrell and married in 1911 Annie gomm. I can find no record of him in the military but have a medal or some sort of badge that was his which suggests otherwise

Why not put a photo of the medal on here so that it can be identified

Yes I will it's currently at my dads  but it's in shape of a cap in silver

The grandfather's name was Charles Werrell.#
Marriage, March qtr 1911; Eton Registration District.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)
