Michael Joseph Lyons. Born Clontuskert area of Galway. C. 1879
« on: Thursday 17 August 17 12:56 BST (UK) »
Michael one of ten children born to Michael Lyons and Eliza Farrell, who lived in Lismany. Michael was number four  in the pecking order, my Grandmother Mary Ellen being the eldest, born 1875.

Three brothers  and one sister emigrated to America, whom I have traced up to 1960.  Additionally one source says Michael also emigrated, however that is all the information I have, did he go or did he stay?

If anyone can help with information or suggestions would appreciate assistance.

Many thanks.

Thank you both, This is definitely my Great  Uncle.I knew he was on the 1911 census so departure date follows  nicely. his father Michael, from Ganaveen,  and he had a brother John in New York and Mrs Dooner was his sister Margaret. the extra information you give regarding draft registrations giving age and addresses very helpful

thank you for your help, much appreciated.

Thank you Rosie,  Anything further at any time would be most welcome.  It looks like Michael died a single man, so line would stop with his death date. I am also trying to locate details on his brother John, born circa 1877, Clontuskert registration district, lived Ganaveen who married . Catherine Bermingham in Clontuskert And then emigrated to USA. He died sometime
Before 1960 and had a son John who died 2.7.1960, pretty certain New York area for this family. I also have two other brothers one in Pittsburgh PA and the other in West Virginia.  should I ask for information on those under separate entries?  these requests are only. Y second attempts with roots chat so not entirely sure of all the pros and cons.

once again, many thanks.
