James Freeman 1801 linstead suffolk

Ihave been researching James Freeman for a while he was married to Jane Roots
and iIhave lots of children for them .

I had been thinking his parents were
John freeman and Elizabeth ? (  not sure where i got that information from )
I had traced him through 1851,1871,1881  census

but I have on today  found him on the 1861 census.

 with his wife Jane, daughter  Tamar
and his Mum  Ann Kent widow aged 80  in Metfield

i looked a bit more and found ann kent on 1851 census Metfield

Ann Kent widow 70 proprieter of houses
with 2 grandsons
Charles kent, and Charles Aldous

i also found a marriage 1803 of ann freeman to thomas kent
and a death for ann kent aged 100

i could see that ann could be a widow in 1803  so could marry thomas kent
but who was the father for james freeman born 1801 in linstead or linstead magna

help who were his parents

Witnesses: Robert Kent and Geo. Barber

I couldn't find the baptism for James Freeman in Metfield or Linstead ~1801, but it looks as though he could be the illegitimate son of Anne Freeman?
