Edward Tutty, policeman

Hello everyone,I need help on this man.I have been told that he was living in Chester in the 1901 census.What I would like to find out is what was he doing there,i.e. was he working there?who was he living with.and any other information that anyone can help me with.He was born in Ireland in 1850.any help with this is much appreciated,tom

From the  Cheshire Observer - Saturday 10 February 1883 
Edward Tutty, the oomplainant, said he was a police- constable in the Chester borough police force.



From the  Cheshire Observer - Saturday 14 April 1883
Wounding a Police Officer in the  Execution of his  Duty. Robert Owens (42), shoemaker, was indicted for unlaw- fully and maliciously inflicting upon one Edward Tutty certain grievous bodily harm, in the City of Chester, on the 21st Jan. last.

thank you all for your help.I have learned more in a few minutes than 5 years.I did not realise he was a policeman for so long.a nice retirement package.I will now find out if he returned to Ireland or died in england.Once again thank you for your help,tom

In 1911 indexes it looks as though he is in Yorkshire. We cannot post any other details.

However, would this be him? There is a probate record:
Died October 1912
Edward Tutty of Lucan House, Lucan
Administration so no will to Susan Tutty wife of Richard Tutty. Effects £1068 in England.
