Britton's Court, Stamford
« on: Tuesday 22 August 17 09:10 BST (UK) »
I have a newspaper cutting from 1885 noting the death of a man in Britton's Court, Stamford. Searching a browser for Britton's Court brings up the website "Lincs to the past" which contains the one reference under Sale Particulars: 60 Terrace houses and cottages (including 1-10 Rock Terrace, Conrstall Buildings, 1-9 Britton's Court, 1-5 Wellington Lane. I haven't been able to spot these places on old street maps of Stamford.

Can anyone help?

Thanks Alan

Britton's Court is marked on this map - you will need to zoom in (or out) to see it, but it's there. :)

Got it!

Many thanks, Geoff. That completes a quite remarkable journey - starting off in White Swan Yard just over the road and spending 15 years as a convict in Western Australia!

Hi Alan

Quite a while since you posted here but it came up on a search I was making for Brittons Court, Scotgate.

A son of my 4th Gt Uncle was living there in 1911, and the family had previously been found at 4 White Swan Yard!

Be interesting to know whether there is any connection between the families!

Cheers Alan
