Looking for son of, who posted on Curiousfox.co from Seedley 13 yrs ago.
Older than the four children listed. Yes Fred born 1928 Manchester. The Curiousfox email address was not still valid so could not contact the enquirer. The details from 1962 onward are correct and up to date.

Could you give a birth year for him (Frederick M Mitchell), please?

(1914? 1926? or someone else)

Added:
Apparently born 1928.

Presumably you have tried to contact him through curiousfox?

Have requested Curious Fox to do an email address check to see if the address they had in 2006 is still a valid one.  Told this could take some time.

There is a sparse tree on ancestry which shows Frederick married in 1962 Woollongong, NSW, Australia and had 4 children (2 sons, 2 daughters) - no details of them as all still living.   By at least 1969 he had moved to Otago, New Zealand where he died 4/7/1989.

There is nothing to say that the person who posted on Curious Fox was male so could have been any one of his 4 children.

Frederick was born 5/01/1928 Manchester. The child of Fred's I am looking for would have been born early 50's before the 4 in the tree you have found. The info from 1962 onwards is up to date and correct.
I tried to reply to the Curiousfox enquiry but the email was not valid anymore.

Frederick is on 3 (?) trees on Ancestry - have you contacted all the tree owners?

Which country do you believe the child was born in, and were his parents married?

Yes I am in contact will all the others and the search is mutual.
The child was born in Manchester, mother and her dark haired child were known to frequent Barlow Moor Rd, Seedley, Manchester, UK in the 1950's. They could have moved since then of course and the child was born out of wedlock.
Thank you for your interest.

There were 2 differently worded enquiries put on Curiousfox not far apart in time, just one of them said he was Fred's son.

So you have no idea of the name of the Mother?

Have you considered a letter in the local paper, suitably worded?

No we hadn't thought of using the local papers so thank you for suggesting. Have no idea who the Mother was unfortunately. Fred travelled the world for several years before settling down so the statement "there is another child" was a tiny needle in a huge haystack. Feel like we are running out of time yet have only just found a firm link. It has only been the last week that we have been able to confirm that the child was from the Manchester area as the extended family had said it was impossible. When a sentence from a 55 yr old family letter connected with the newly found 13yr old Curiousfox enquiries it made me pretty sure Seedley/Choltun Cum Hardy was the area. The Enquiries have since been shown to extended family in that area who now confirm the childs existance but they will not help.  :'( Sorry.  I will look for newspapers appropriate.
