Thanks for your help, Ian.  I think I have been in touch with the original poster of that link.  I will circle back to them to see if they have found any more.

Also I have found a good photo of Jenny/William Sandstrom's daughter from 1923.  It is all coming together.  Thanks again for all your help.

Hi again
I took another look at Carl Johan Pedersen in Norway.
I do believe that the Carl Johan Pedersen found on the Norway-Heritage forum could well be Carl Johan, even though his d.o.b is off.
I found a birth and a death for a Paul Arthur Pedersen as a brother to Carl Johan. This name could well have been mistaken for his father.
Carl Johan was a seaman but could only find his seaman records for the years 1889-1893.
