I don't think the one I posted is the right family.
That George is single in a later census and Ann is his niece.

There are a couple of published trees

One shows the birth of William - parents George Nash, carpenter and mother Sarah Gregory
His marriage shows his father as William Nash, soldier.

So there is presumably some mystery/problem somewhere.

Occupation of Sarah says
Dependt on Gd Son so she is grandmother  ;D  Also noted as Widow

Ancestry hints suggest that she is Sarah Strapp who married Robert Nash.   ???

I think that you are going to have to purchase that birth certificate to clarify who Williams parents are.

The copy birth certificate shows parents as George Nash, Carpenter and Sarah Gregory.

There are several children to Robert Nash and Sarah.

Amongst them are:
George 1808
Sarah 1815
Elizabeth 1809 - becomes Mrs Draper, Clapham. 1851 William Nash is boarding with the Drapers.

I think there may be other Nash siblings in London area.

Hallo, ALL
thanks for your replies.
I wanted to answer each reply individually,  but cannot find the correct method.
All of your topics are relevant to the search,  but not all were relevant to my tree.

I still lack trace of any marriage between george nash and sarah gregory,  possibly a non-conformist ceremony.

I do have access to the copy of the birth certificate and marriage certificate of william their son.

My friend who is descended from this tree,  thinks that there is a slight possibility that george joined the armed forces as a carpenter  but there is absolutely no evidence to support this theory.

Thank you all,
