Hi, I saw your subject and, although the Favels aren't in my direct family line, they are a bit of an offshoot. My great-grandma, Ada Turner, had a sister, Kate Elizabeth Turner (born 1886, Old Weston, Hunts). Kate married Arthur Favel (although we always knew it as Favell) in 1910, and they had a daughter, Maud Vera Favell. Arthur Favell was born in 1879 and died 1963.
Sorry this is all relatively modern info, and I don't have very specific dates/places, but it all happened in Old Weston, Hunts.
Cheers, Nicola.

I have made some progress with the FAVELLs, but as always there are still facts that remain elusive. At present my biggest puzzle is what happened to Mary FAVEL(L)/FAVIL.

Mary was born at Brampton in 1801, being baptised 06 Dec 1801. Her parents were Stephen and Sarah FAVEL. I can't find any record of her after her baptism, so would appreciate any help.

Just to save your time the 1817 burial in Great Staughton isn't for this Mary, it is intact for her Grandmother Mary FAVELL (née FLINT).

Margaret -mthanks for the offer. All I really know about Old Weston arises from the post by nnicola2. I'm not sure whether or not there is any family connection or if there is such a connection whether it is close or distant.

As I said earlier, I know that Stephen Favell and Sarah Smart were my 4GGPs. I also know that they had at least 6 children" John, Frances, Mary, Rebecca, William and Maria. By one means and another - including a lot of help from this board - I have pierced together the bare essentials of the lives of most of the children. The big gap is Mary born in 1801 in Brampton. I simply have no idea what happened to her after her baptism in Dec 1801. She could have died young or she could have married. If there is an Old Weston connection, it could well arise from her.

So at the moment I have nothing specific to ask you to look up with regard to Old Weston. But many thanks for the kind offer.
