It has been transcribed as Allon, but looks more like Alloa to me.  Neither seem right to me  :-\

Added:   FindMyPast just state Tipperary.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

1901 just states "Ireland".  1891 states "Tipperary, Ireland".  1881 just states "Ireland"

Looking again at the 1911 entry - not now sure that "Allon/Alloa" is connected to Tipperary  :-\

Thanks BumbleB for the reply.

I can't find a town or village in Tipperary that has the name Allon/Alloa.  Not to sure on why its there.  I was hoping to narrow down my search to where my Cashen family were connected to.

This website https://www.townlands.ie/tipperary/ has a 'Clogher' so would be pronounced 'Cloa'  ??? Would like to see a capital 'A' & 'C' in the same hand but possibly none on same page.

ADDED: attached are upper case 'C's, couldn't find any 'A's, doesn't look like C to me now

Thank you treetotal & josey for your answers.  Here is John Cashen's name from the census, showing a capital 'C'.

1871 just shows Ireland.
Do you have his father's name from his marriage certificate?
