Newspaper article New Mills
« on: Wednesday 06 September 17 07:36 BST (UK) »
I don't know if I post  in the right place :
> Here is what I am looking for :
> 1. An article after the wedding of News paper article Horace BAILEY and Dorenda BOOTH . The wedding took place in New Mills in April, May or June 1928.
> 2. An article about William SIMPSON and his wife Sarah (maiden name WHARMBY). I don't know the subject of the article.

Is there someone who could help?

I don't know in which newspaper these articles could have been published.
Thank you anyway.

Just for information the marriage took place in June qtr 1872 Hayfield reg district.
Postem on freebmd for this marriage -
Wharmby is her former married name as she married John Wharmby  06/1861 in Mansfield NTT/DBY. Her maiden name was Dove. She was born circa 1842 in Thornsett, Hayfield DBY.

ADDED If you have proved this information wrong why not add a postem to freebmd

The only way to be absolutely certain of Sarah's maiden name is to purchase the marriage certificate - £9.25 direct from GRO.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

An article about William SIMPSON and his wife Sarah (maiden name WHARMBY). I don't know the subject of the article.

This couple married in 1872, what is this article about and was it before they married or after  ::)

Just for interest, the marriage took place at Shrewsbury Street Methodist Chapel, Glossop - Derbyshire Registrars Marriage Index Transcription.

rosie99 ,I know , I wasn't blaming you. My question was not concerning Sarah's maiden name, I closed this subject. This time I ask if someone , living in New Mills for example can find these articles in the local papers at the public library ( perhaps) or if someone knows if the local papers of that time  are digitized and accessible via a computer.

I think it is an article published  (for Horace and Dorenda) after the wedding.
For the Simpsons may be an article after their wedding or their deaths.
