Still hoping to find out who Hugh's wife Margaret was ::)
Have checked Free bmd, Ancestry, Find my past, and Scotland's People.
Is there a  free overseas marriage site?

Hi again

When I rang Deansgrange Cemetary, they were very helpful and provided info on the burial place of Hugh, even giving the plot number, to make identification easy.

With this information, why don't you ring the cemetary, quoting the plot number, to see who gave permission for Hugh to be buried in that precise grave.  That might well provide another lead....

Cheers

I e mailed and was told that Hugh's wife bought the grave in 1936.
When I suggested she might be buried in it also , they said they had no record of any further burials!
Damn, I thought I might be getting nearer to some answers!
Why would you buy a grave and then not make use of it?

She might have remarried??

She bought a grave that already had 2 burials in it??

Hugh Kane was buried 19 Dec 1935 in Deansgrange Cemetary, Dublin.  Grave No. 56, Row I South.
This grave already had two occupants, Sarah Curry July 1903 and Caroline Lucas  April 1877.

I am really confused by all this!
Maybe she did remarry, and then obviously would not want to be with her first husband ?
I have been looking for deaths for Margaret Kane, I need to look for a marriage.
The problem is that I have no record of the marriage of Hugh and Margaret, so I do not know how old she was or her maiden name! ???

Hi

I assume that grave must, at the moment, be Registered in someone's name, plus address.  If his wife bought the grave, they should have her address too.

I'd go back and ask that question.

Good Luck

Hi again

Just noticed I earlier wrote:-
Hugh Kane was buried 19 Dec 1935 in Deansgrange Cemetary, Dublin

You yesterday wrote:-

Would they have allowed his burial a year earlier in 1935...
