TRAVEL FROM KILKENNY TO LIVERPOOL IN 1860S
« on: Wednesday 13 September 17 04:32 BST (UK) »
Form of travel from Co Kilkenny (no idea of a parish) to board a ship in Liverpool 1860, to Australia. Has anything been written/web site to visit on this? Wilson family, wife and three children born Kilkenny 1855 to 1859, how did they get to Liverpool.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilkenny#Railway

According to this link   (paragraph 6 - infrastructure)  there was a railway from Kilkenny to Dublin from 1850.  So that is one possibility.

Dublin (or Dun Loaghaire) to Liverpool much the same as today - by boat!

Thank you everyone for all the links, just  what I wanted. How easy it is to get sidetracked also with   the information.
