FreeREG has the 1772 Baptism for William in Crich, plus 3 siblings.
+ the bonus of their Mothers christian name and surname
And their Marriage 1767 (use the soundex option as under Purday)

Burials of Parents are there also 1786/1800
Definitely need soundex for them!

So there was a spelling change. Figures. Many thanks. Now we know where Sam came from.
Most amusing to me was your find of Mary. When I went to the Pub Rd Off in Westminster for Census searches 30 years ago, one nice thing was that you could page around in the neighborhood and see people and occupations. Mary was there. Who is this? Here's what I wrote. "Then the family moved to South Wingfield, Hannah's mother is absent from the area suggesting her death. But, living in an 'alley house' next to them was a probable aunt, widow Mary Purdy  [you have 97 and 98; no issue with me](1799? in Codnor, Dby). A 'charwoman,' she was one who did odd jobs (PRO: Census, 1861: RG 9/2513, p. 22).
Have to go now; comments later. Again, thank you.

I was able to take it back one step further. Many thanks.

The family came from an old village of Wessington in northeastern Dby, cited in the Domesday (1086) as Wistanestune. Born there, Samuel PurdEY  married Sivil Fox at St. Marys Church in nearby Crich in 1767. He died in 1786 and she in 1800.

Now it's finding the b. of the 2 kids Eliza and William and d. of Sarah Hall Jackson. I've tried parish records and FreeBMD with no luck. Any suggestions?

I cant find anything on FreeBMD for the 2 childrens birth regs.
Or Parish Records for them.

I looked under Widnall and variants for Sarahs death reg or possible remarriage after 1871 with no luck either.

Sorry not much help.

So Sarah was nee Hall? When/where did they marry?
