James Chedzey and Isabella Chedzey

My 4x GGM ISABELLA CHEDZEY married James Chappel 2/9/1800 at Stoke St Gregory, Somerset. She had a daughter baptised in 1793, 'poor illegitimate' at the same church.

A witness to the 1800 marriage was JAMES CHEDZEY (all parties signed with a X)

I can find no sign of a baptism for Isabella (Sibylla) anywhere around the 1770's. Similarly, no records at all for James Chedzey around the same date if he was her brother/cousin or 1740's if he was her father. Chedzey/Chedsey/Chedsey all have drawn a blank.

This is a long standing brick wall and I would be appreciative of any ideas, since I posted a similar request many moons ago!

I omitted to say that Isabella was buried at Stoke St Gregory in 1817, aged 55 - her birth therefore is about 1752.

There's Sebila CHEDSEY baptised at Ilminster 14 Mar 1762.  From Donyatt but unfortunately no parents' names.

David, thank you so much, that's a new one on me! I will follow that one up and think more creatively with her name - she was named 'Sibylla' at her daughter's baptism. The date is a good fit for her burial aged 55.
