Walsh - Graiguenamanagh
« on: Friday 22 September 17 00:22 BST (UK) »
Hi :)

I was wondering if anyone had come across a Dennis Walsh born in Graiguenamanagh in 1814? He was married to Elizabeth Breen from Hindley, Lancashire. He emigrated to Newfoundland where he died in 1861.

I've just started my family tree, having so much fun with it!!

Thanks
April

Welcome to Rootschat and to family research!  :)

You may already have found out that early Irish Records are dependent on survival and quality of record keeping and therefore "hit and miss".

Civil records begin from the 1840s for some but mainly the early 1860s for all

Do you have the name of Dennis' father? It would be on the marriage record to Elizabeth
This would allow you to cross check your information and help in the search
You may be able to locate a baptism record for him
Kearney & Bourke/ Johns & Fox/ Mannion & Finan/ Donohoe & Curley
Byrne [Carthy], Keeffe/ Germaine, Butler/ McDermott, Giblin/ Lally, Dolan
Toole, Doran; Dowling, Grogan/ Reilly, Burke; Warren, Kidd [Lawless]/ Smith, Scally; Mangan, Rodgers/ Fahy, Calday; Staunton, Miller
Further generations:
Brophy Coleman Eathorn(e) Fahy Fitzpatrick Geraghty Haverty Keane Keogh Nowlan Rowe Walder

registers start too late..  http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0706
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.
