Howorths of Turton, Lancashire
« on: Tuesday 26 September 17 18:05 BST (UK) »
Looking for any information on the Howorth / Haworth / Howarth / Haughworth family of Turton in Lancashire during the 1600s. Specifically John Howorth (etc.,) and his marriage to a Hannah (no surname). Any information about this family will be greatfully received.

Thank you
Chezbrunet.

Can you narrow down the timeframe a little? I'm assuming you must have some children born to this couple - what are their names?

There are these marriages at Haslingden (not too far from Turton).
2 Oct 1634, St James, Haslingden - Johes HAWORTH and Anna ORMROD

9 Feb 1663/4 St James, Haslingden - Johes HOWORTHE and Anna GIBSON

and
8 Feb 1686/7 St James Church Kirk
John HAWORTH - (of "Nether Darwen in the parish of Blackburne") married Ann HARWOOD (also of Nether Darwen)    Married by Licence - Darwen again being not too far from Turton

Hi Maddys 52, looked again at my family history and found I was on the wrong track, not in Turton at all.  Thanks very much for your reply.
regards
